An Important Note About Regulation

The Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission (PUC) has jurisdiction over the following electric utilities that are currently offering service:

Allegheny Power Citizens' Electric Duquesne Met-Ed PECO Penelec

Penn Power Pike County PPL UGI Wellsboro Electric

Rural electric cooperatives and most utilities owned and operated by cities, boroughs, or townships are not regulated by the PUC. The PUC has no jurisdiction over these electric utilities, the prices they charge, or the services they provide.
